Bookings are now being taken for our 2011 Summer Holiday Clubs

Based in the Dance Studio at Harrogate High School, each week is fun packed where the children get to learn to sing and dance, record their very own CD and put on a show for family and friends.

Now in our 3rd year, these clubs always prove very popular and places are booked very quickly

Each week costs £100 (£95 if booked by the 15th June)

The price includes a T-Shirt or Bag and a CD

Children can be dropped off from 8.30am. Each day starts at 9.00am and runs until 4.30pm

Hi Everyone

It has been a while since I last wrote on here – hope you are all well?

You will see straight away those who have been with us for some time that we have changed our name from ‘School of Performance’ to ‘Stage School’. We feel that this change says more about what we are about and we hope you will agree.

We have also split the age groups meaning we now have 3 age ranges:

Mini Starmakers for 2-4 yr olds (starting in September 2011)

Junior Starmakers for 5-9 yr olds

Starmakers Youth Theatre Group for 10-16 yr olds

There are going to be some more changes over the coming weeks so keep your eyes on the Website, Facebook and Twitter

Hi Everyone

Another great week was had over the Easter holidays as we took the Starmakers ‘Back to the 80’s‘.

The kids were fantastic all week learning songs from my youth (Fame, Footloose & Dont Stop Believing) and did brilliantly with all the dance routines that Sam set them.

They just seem to get better and better everytime we run a holiday club which is wonderful to see.

We are, as always, very proud of what they achieved and they should be as well. A great week with great people.

Here’s to the next ones in the Summer Holidays. Just need to get my thinking cap on now as to which songs we are going to do….any suggestions very welcome!

Just wanted to say a big well done and Congratulations to everyone who attended the Half Term Holiday Club.

You were amazing all week and Sam, Becky, Jess and I had a great time.

You should all be very proud of what you achieved over the week.

I hope that we will see you either at a weekly class or another holiday club soon.

Hi Everyone

I am delighted to say that we have a number of Starmakers who will be appearing in the forthcoming production of ‘Oliver’ which is to be presented by the Ripon Amateur Operatic Society at the Harrogate Theatre in April 2010. In Fagin’s gang there will be: Charlotte Atkinson, Ailsa Mummery & Caitlin Mummery. Playing the part of Noah will be Dan Lancaster and playing the part of Charlotte will be Lucy Atkinson. Everyone attends the Thursday class.

We are very proud that they have been successful in getting into the show and look forward to seeing them when it comes to the Harrogate Theatre.

Just wanted to tell you all that Becky is having a great time dancing in Aladdin at Harrogate Theatre. I know that some of you have been to see it already and have really enjoyed it and some of you have been lucky enough to have seen Becky performing. For those who are still thinking of going then you can try to get tickets through the Harrogate Theatre website on our useful links page. Hi Everyone

To all those who attended the summer schools this year firstly can I apologise that it has taken longer than expected to get the CDs and DVDs out to you. We had some major issues with the editing software and it took three different programmes to get things sorted. However, we have finally got there and everyone who ordered a CD and/or DVD will receive these within the week.

As a result of this we have decided that all our future videoing of the end of week show will be done by a professional company. This will result in an increase in the price of the DVD but it will cut out any problems that may arise.

Again, sorry for the delay but we hope you’ll understand.

We look forward to seeing you at our next Holiday Clubs which are being held in the February half term week 15th – 19th February 2010 and also the 2nd week of the Easter holidays from 12th – 16th April 2010. We have also got 2 further weeks planned for the summer.

You can now book your place on the next holiday club which is running from 15th – 19th February 2010 at the Dance Studio, Harrogate High School.

If you want to come and learn to sing and dance, record a CD and put on a show for family and friends at the end of the week then this is the place for you. No experience is required, just a desire to have fun.

A £10 deposit will secure your place with us.

It is an open age group from the age of 7 years old.

Places are limited to 32 so don’t miss out.

Jess is appearing in ‘Summer Holiday’ with The Deanery Players at Harrogate Theatre from 11th – 13th February 2010. She is very excited to be taking part in what will be the premiere of the show in Harrogate.

We are very proud of Jess and wish her every success with the show.
